‘Washington Times’ & ‘Financial Times’ Write On Uzbekistan

The leading English-language newspaper of the world – the American “Washington Post” and the British “Financial Times” issued special stories dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The newspapers posted the photographs and wrote on the successes of social and economic development of Uzbekistan, as well as scientific, technical and tourist potential and rich cultural heritage of the country.

The materials are published under the headline “Uzbekistan. The modern land with ancient history is open for business”.

Further the paper wrote that Uzbekistan, where there is the rule of fundamental law for all citizens, represents “the growing economic miracle” with stable economic development and the GDP growth for over the three years has accounted for 45%.

The “Washington Post” and “Financial Times” underlined the fact that the rich investment opportunities are available to the country in industry, agriculture, mining, real estate and telecommunications, modern infrastructure with telecommunication networks and the world class airlines.

Besides, the papers wrote on that Uzbekistan, which has achieved for over the years of independence the energy self-sufficiency, secures the leading positions in the world on production of cotton and gold mining. They have also noted that the corporate and individual taxes are low in the country.

The newspapers also wrote that Uzbekistan, having strong economy and broad international business ties, exports to 97 countries of the world.

Informing the readers on rich tourist potential, modern infrastructure of tourism created in the country, the newspapers have underscored that Uzbekistan is famous for its great number of places of sightseeing, several of which – Samarkand, Bukhara, Shakhrisabz, Ichan-kala in the city of Khiva – are among the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The “Washington Post” and “Financial Times” are issued in more than 800,000 and 300,000 copies, respectively, and distributed in governmental establishments, business and social circles of tens of countries around the world.
