Adolat SDP Resolves On Participation In Pres. Pre-Election Campaign

On September 28 this year the plenum of the Political Council of the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat” (‘Justice) was held in Tashkent. The members of the Party faction at the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, the deputies of the local Kengashs of people’s deputies and activists of the party participated at the plenum, the local papers reported.

The plenum saw the discussion of participation of the Social Democratic Party “Adolat” at the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The participants of the plenum are reported to have said that the presidential elections due in December 23 this year will become a significant political event of a profound importance in deepening the democratic reforms in Uzbekistan. Thus, the Social Democratic Party “Adolat” considers it the important objective to participate in the upcoming elections, which will become for it, for all members of the party a serious political school and school of democracy, as well as the test of its social and political maturity.

On the outcomes of the discussion the participants are reported to have decided about the participation of the Social Democratic Party “Adolat” in the presidential pre-election campaign.

The plenum has also resolved to summon the party congress in October this year and submit for its discussion the candidature of the First Secretary of SDP Political Council, the leader of the faction of the party at the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis Dilorom Tashmukhamedova and put forward her as a nominee for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
