Uzbek-Chinese Business Forum Held In Tashkent
Within the framework of visit Chinese Minister of Finance Mr. Jin Renqing to Uzbekistan the business forum with participation of Uzbek and Chinese business communities held in Tashkent on July 9, this year, local newspapers reported the day after.
Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade organized this event.
During the meeting Chinese businessmen were particularly informed on priority lines of investment formation to Uzbekistan, privatization processes, consecutive reforms, which realizing in country, as well as on course of small business and private enterprises development.
China is one of significant partners of Uzbekistan. The volume of bilateral commodity turnover amounted to 698 million US dollars in 2006. This indicator has reached to 300,76 million US dollars in January-May and increased to 92 percent in comparison with the same period of the last year.
The entrepreneurs of both countries have particularly discussed such issues as further development of trade, economic and investment cooperation, especially on oil and gas, banking and financial spheres, machinery construction, textile manufacture, building and electrical engineering, food and light industry as well as participation of Chinese companies in privatization processes, which is carried out in Uzbekistan.
The talks between Uzbek and Chinese companies were held after finishing of business forum.
