Delegation of Bahrain visits Uzbekistan

The delegation led by Sheik Haled bin Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Halifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain has paid visit to Uzbekistan.

Sheik Haled bin Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Halifa was received on June 7 by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

During the meeting the two sides exchanged views on the current state of relations between the two countries and prospects to extend them, as well as other outstanding issues of mutual interest.

The same day Foreign Minister of Bahrain held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov. The two sides signed the Protocol on cooperation and consultations.

The document foresees further development of the friendship ties between the two countries, expand and strengthening the cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural and others spheres, as well as holding regular consultations and exchange of views of mutual interest with regard to international problems and mutual relations.

Members of the Bahrain delegation also visited the Khazrati Imam Complex (Khastimom) – the Khazrati Imam Mosque, Barokkhon Madrassah and place of veneration of Muyi Muborak - the facilities built on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. They underscored that construction of such buildings is practical result of the works under way in Uzbekistan in securing the tolerance, upbringing the youth in the spirit of respect to national values.

The diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Bahrain were established in 1992. The two countries are implementing the political cooperation within the framework of the international organizations. The foreign ministries have established the bilateral consultations.
