Deputy PM, Foreign Minister of Kuwait Arrives in Uzbekistan

The delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheik Muhammad Sabah as-Salem as-Sabah is visiting Uzbekistan.

As a part of they stay in the country the delegation members had held talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, where the sides have signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

The said document reflects the aspirations of both sides to further expand and strengthen the bilateral cooperation, as well as envisages the holding of regional and international consultations of mutual interest.

The Minister of Foreign of Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheik Muhammad Sabah as-Salem as-Sabah are reported to have inked the document.

The same day the members of the Kuwaiti delegation visited the Khazrati Imam Complex (Khastimom) – the Khazrati Imam Mosque, Barokhkhon Madrassah and place of veneration of Muyi Muborak - the facilities built on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. The visitors are reported to have highly assessed the locally accomplished work on construction and betterment.

The delegation has also observed the unique manuscript Koran, mostly known as the Usman Koran in the Muslim world.

“Uzbekistan is famous in the world for its ancient and rich history, great thinkers such as Imam al-Bukhariy, Imam at-Termiziy, Burkhaniddin Marghinoniy, Makhmud az-Zamakhshariy,” the Kuwait Deputy PM said “Kuwait strives to extend cooperation with Uzbekistan in all spheres”.

The profound work now accomplished in Uzbekistan to revive, restore and preserve the ancient monuments is worth recognition. The announcement by the Islamic Scientific, Educational and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) of Tashkent as the world capital of Islamic culture in 2007 is yet another international confirmation of the ongoing effective works in Uzbekistan to study and develop the spiritual and cultural heritage.
